The Origins of Hino-Seiyaku

御嶽山・四ノ池

木曽の伝承薬「百草」は、江戸時代後期に御嶽信仰とともに全国へ広まりました。

Hyakuso, a traditional herbal medicine from the Kiso region, spread throughout Japan alongside the spread of the Ontake faith during the late Edo period.

日野製薬の前身である旅館「日野屋」では、御嶽山へ登る信者や旅人への土産物として百草を販売していました。

At Hinoya, an inn that preceded Hino-Seiyaku, Hyakuso was sold as a souvenir to pilgrims traveling to Mt. Ontake and to other travelers passing through the region.

明治44年（1911年）から、日野屋は旅館業から百草の販売を家業とするようになり、これが日野製薬の始まりとなりました。

In 1911, Hinoya shifted from operating an inn to making the sale of Hyakuso its primary family business. This marked the beginning of Hino-Seiyaku.

江戸時代 後期 Late Edo period 日野製薬の前身「日野屋」は、中山道の薮原宿で旅籠を営む
「百草」は御嶽信仰とともに全国に普及
Hinoya, the predecessor of Hino-Seiyaku, operated an inn along the Nakasendo route.
Hyakuso spread throughout Japan alongside the spread of the Ontake faith.
1911 onward 旅館業から百草の販売へ転換
From 1911 onward, Hinoya shifted its primary family business from operating an inn to selling Hyakuso.
1948 合名会社日野製薬を設立
General Partnership Company Hino-Seiyaku was established.
1950年代 前半 Early 1950s 百草丸の製造・販売を開始
Production and sales of Hyakusogan began in the early 1950s.
1967 2月 日野製薬株式会社に社名変更
The company was renamed Hino-Seiyaku Corporation.
1967 12月 普導丸の製造販売開始
Production and sales of Fudogan began.
1970 本社・工場を新築し、現在地へ移転
A new head office and factory were constructed, and the company relocated to its present location.
1977 GMP適合工場を新築
A new GMP-compliant factory was completed.
1983 三岳村に直営店「 里宮店 」を新装開店
王滝村に直営店「 王滝店 」を開設
The directly operated Satomiya Store was opened in Mitake Village.
The directly operated Otaki Store was opened in Otaki Village.
1987 本社社屋を新築し、工場を増改築
A new head office building was constructed, and the factory was expanded and renovated.
2005 名古屋市に名古屋営業所を開設
奈良井に直営店「 奈良井店 」を開設
通信販売を開始
The Nagoya Sales Office was opened in Nagoya.
The directly operated Narai Store was opened in Narai.
The company opened its online store.
2006 工場改装
The factory was renovated.
2007 「 里宮店」 を改装し、リニューアルオープン
The Satomiya Store was renovated and reopened.
2010 道の駅「木曽市場」に「木曽市場店」を開設
The directly operated Kiso Ichiba Store was opened at Kiso Ichiba, a roadside station in Kiso Town.
2014 製造ラインおよび錠剤製造設備を新設
A new production line and tablet manufacturing equipment were installed.
2015 「百草丸プラス」「日野百草丸（国内産オウバク配合）」の製造・販売を開始
Production and sales of Hyakusogan-Plus and Hino Hyakusogan (Containing Japanese Obaku) began.
2016 「百草錠」の製造・販売を開始
Production and sales of Hyakuso Tablets began.
2019 「日野百草丸」の製造・販売を開始
Production and sales of Hino Hyakusogan began.
2025 「奈良井店」改装
The Narai Store was renovated.
2026 きはだラボ開設 Access
Kihada Lab was opened.
